My Idol: Gabriella Coco Chanel

The story of Gabriella Coco Chanel is truly inspiring for an entrepreneur and a woman in her time; which was truly hard to break into a man’s’ world in the early 1900s’. Never the less she did it. I’m sure there were times in her life that I wasn’t very happy with such as her involvement in the Nazia Associations; which those times could have been avoided and I wish that she were never involved a raciest regime.

In spite of her involvement, she struggled much in life and to see her triumph in the end; becoming a great business woman and good entrepreneur. She never gave up and she did what she wanted to do in the fashion and perfume industry. Her wilingness to drive for what she believed she could do and be. This is what’s so inspiring about her life and an example for all and especially me, as an entrepreneur in such trying times.

Sometimes success can seem so far away and finding the right opportunity can seem like a close door often. Reading her story from childhood and as an orphan, following it to the end helps me to keep pushing. Knowing that all things are possible and when you are not looking and least expected the right opportunity will present itself. - Anonymous

How do you plan your Days?

Hey Dearies,

Every year my aims is to be a discipline person but sometimes due to laziness, I tend to not planning things properly.

Basically, I'd like to share something with you guys out-there on how do I actually properly plan my days! This inspiration came when I tend to be "so forgetful" and at the same time I love creativity. Hence, I made a colourful yet simple planner. Well anyways you can find a lot of organiser with planner inside it from stationery shops nearby but unfortunately,  I don't kinda like it. Besides my free organiser is used for Office matters.

Here, showing you my 3 months planner to give you some ideas on how to plan your days ahead as well as to avoid the frequent last minute things that makes you more forgetful!

When in Melbourne...

Salam. Dear Friends,

I just reached Brunei last Tuesday after a vacation to Melbourne - Victoria, in Southern Australia. It was an awesome place to be, to live to be exact. By the time you feel their environment they're livin, you'll feel home. Not like any other countries that I have been to such as KL or Jakarta, where life are moving in a very fast lane. Those busy-ness and the hustle bustle of daily life is a bit distracting. But Melbourne is much more like Brunei except the weather is much cooler with 23 degree Celsius in Summer. As early as 6pm, the road are already quite and the people will spend their time in the garden, cycling, reading, chilling, sleeping and even havin a walk with their pets. Where in the evening, it's just the right time to rest.

We went there for 5 days and 4 nights. We have been treated so well by the people. I'm Lovin their hospitality and friendliness. As Melbourne is multi-cultural country, we feel safe everywhere we go. Being so daring enough and only depends on the map, I went for a Morning walk alone from my hotel to the city when my Friends are still asleep. It is safe and fun!! And definitely a COOL morning walk. I see a lot of Indonesian too living and studying there in Melbourne. We even went to the Indonesian restautrant where tat is the best place to go for a halal food. In terms of their transportation, No worries! as you can find a lot of medium of transportation especially the free ride for all the tourists. From Trams, Shuttle busses, Trains, Taxis etc.

I'd love to go back there when I have more rezeki and bring my family as well. For the mean time, enjoy some picture that I captured during our visit to Melbourne.

FYI, our activities was sight seeing in the CBD, we went to the Aquarium, Museum, Gardens, went for a day tour to the Suburbs; Visit to Sherbrooke for Morning B'fast, Handfeed the Birds (Rosella and Cockatoo), Dadenongs, Lunch at Fergusson's (Grape Plantations for Wineries - nestled in the heart of Yarra Valley), experienced the Puffing Billy Steam Train (the centuries old trains!) and last but not least a visit to the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary where we met Koala's, Kangaroos & a lot other Australia's Famous animals like Warook and Platypus! :)

So, enjoy the rest of the pictures!

Bonne Annee!!

Assalamualaikum...

HAPPY NEW YEAR...
SELAMAT TAHUN BARU...
BONNE ANNEE...

Dear Friends,

2012 has been a year full of laughter and tears! But it doesn't matter as it is the wheel of life.. All we can do is to live life beautifully. Appreciating all things that came to our life. From there onwards we will feel grateful and blessed.

Alhamdulillah, I love my life so far, it has taught me a lot of things that others don't feel. The challenges has taught me how to handle my emotions, how to deal with it, how to control it and how to appreciate it.

During the ice braking with my classmates last September, I told them that I love things that challenge my mind because from that challenges we learn something. Yes, I believe on that, when you never accept challenges you will never learn. Indeed, because fears has conquered you and you will always stays still. Nothing will change.

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
― Helen Keller,
The Open Door

Let me tell you a lil story of mine in my work place. I used to be a secretary and always stays in the office and now I am involved more towards the operational side. Thinking like a man. As all my colleagues are men. Well, I thought being the only women I will be treated like a what? Queen. Nah, never bet so! Anyways, I thought being a year in logistics..I know a lot of things. But it's false, the more I know the bigger is the responsibility and the more I have to know. So, facing a lot of circumstances and challenges is the big thing I have to face. It's not easy, all my boss can see in me is all my weaknesses. I don't mind if he read this. But honestly, eventhough it's bitter but I accept the challenge eventhough at times not! :p Because I know, I if I was never told on my weaknesses, I shall not improve. Yes, Believe it or not.

So anyway, What's your achievements and happiness for 2012? Have you ever count your blessings? I do! Let's reflects... (You should also though..) :)
  1. Graduated as an International Diploma in Business Administrations (IDBA) from Cosmopolitan College of Commerce & Technology (CCCT).
  2. Getting an offer letter from International Graduate Studies (IGS) to study Bachelor in Business Administrations (BBA) at IGS College.
  3. Getting a Scholarship Degree from the Government of Brunei Darussalam for my BBA course.
  4.  Approval from my management on my Reimbursement claims! :p
  5. Completed my 2nd French Class.
  6. Candidate of the AF French Scholarship. Passed my French Essay writing and managed to attend the interview.
  7. Completed my first swimming class. Guess what now I am able to swim back stroke & Float on the water! heeeheee.
  8. Had my first time vacation to the Metropolitan City of Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi.
  9. Maintaining my B+ score for my Performance Evaluation.
  10. Maintaining 3 times Birthday surprise as last year! ha-ha
  11. Have been blessed with 7 kittens! :D
  12. Celebrating my Besties Degree Graduations.
  13. Meeting face to face with His Majesty during one of the Company's Function.
Even so we have tonnes to count in, what happened on the dark side of our life will remain in our heart and let it taught us to appreciate life more.

How's yours?

Let me end this post by giving you some quotes:

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that. But the really great make you feel that you too can become great.

My Special Day!!!

Life is like a wheel.

Assalamualaikum Sahabati.

Today I feel like writting, walau only few sahabat yang akan membacanya but syukur dapat berbagi kebahagiaan. If mom know she maybe mad at me now for sharing life stories here. Anyway, I just wana share few moments happening around last september tho.

And how to start? hmm.. it was started off when I heard a sad news from my family in Jakarta, when my Auntie texted me and mom that my Grandfather was ill on sunday morning. And mom feels like going back home the soonest possible! So I decided to deposit a cash to my cash card, where unfortunately after I deposit some cash I thought I can use the card directly to book a ticket online but I was false. As I called Call centre, they explained that it takes 2 days to be able to use the cash that I deposited. Where I went home with disappointment. If only I could call them earlier, my mom probably be back in Jakarta on the same day or early monday morning.

So as time goes by, we decided to book the ticket by monday morning, it was one fine morning, I went to work as usual, and mom went to the bank to withraw some money and went to airasia to book the ticket. I decided to join after my work is done. Unfortunately, on the same morning I received another text by my aunt saying that "Mbah Meninggal" where my heart pound so quick and I was so nervous where tears started to fall. Then mom called asking  things about the ticket pricing. And I told her on the spot that her father just passed away and she was shocked and suddenly the environment was quite for a moment. I was so nervous that I should have informed her face to face rather than on the phone. Then I decided to take one day emergency leave to settle things up and send mom to the airport for an afternoon flight, 10th Sept 2012...

To cut it short, it was 4 days till my birthday. Since early of the year, I got good news and come a time just exactly before my 24th birthday my grandfather passed away. I was so sad to be left alone with my brother at these time, but Allah have another plan. I accept it with open heart. And just be positive..

As days goes by, towards the end of September. On the 25th, at dawn, My cat died. Indescribable feeling at that time. Was wondering and keep on thinking it was a gloomy september, indeed! I dont feel it was my year... May beloved cat Mimit, the night before she died.. I was cleaning up the kitchen and she went out and I thought it would be ok to leave her outside cos usually nothing happen. So I was so stupid that I don't even care.. I never expect that this would happened. So during the dawn, I heard dogs barking around the house, at first I don't really care cos I was so sleepy that suddenly I woke up as I remember Mimit was outside without thinking further, I shoo the dogs away and I went out of the house taking with me my Car key to switch on the highlight, the weather I remember was raining cats and dogs. So I dare myself to go out and checked cos I was so worried when I called up Mimit's name but no respond I suddenly saw a small body lying just infront of the coconut tree, as I go near...Im speechless the body was motionless and I thought it was other cat, BUT No, it was Mimit! :'( I really feel sory for her... if not because of me letting her out that night, things will not happened! :'(

Well anyway, taking it positively again... I believed that Allah loves her more.  Was so sad... but no one to turn to, only my brother understand me how I felt.. he said..." it was a very sady month for me..." I said yes, indeed...but it's okay".

But I was so happy that on the same day, 25th September 2012 was my luckiest day too where I received a call from jpke informing me to dropby to their office to take a letter. I was curious, but was stupid that I dont even ask! Haiyaa!! All I can think, was I getting an offer for a scholarship? was I?? Was I?? was so anxious! So the next day straight from home I went to jpke to take the letter. Alhamdulillah, I was so thankful that they said I was given a scholarship to further my studies to degree... Alhamdulillahirabbilalamin......... Subhanallah, I was terribly indescribably happy with joy and butterflies in my stomach! Feels like wanted to screem! Once again, the officer in charge congratulate me! and I was really-really happy! Alhamdulillah..... :))))) The morning I received the letter, I texted mom that I got the scholarship! Subhanallah... Mom this is for you. And She's really happy... :)

Remebering my conversation with her just before she departed to Jakarta, I have a small fight with her and I was ssssoooooo sad, when I cried like a kid wanted a toys! Tersedu sedan.. (Overly sad) why??

Because of financial issues my mom suddenly said,

"Nadiah, No need to further your studies cos we need money at the moment. Your studies is too expensive! It's better for you to work and save money first" ........and the conversation goes on... I cried terribly infront of her, but I don't speak a thing, except to keep on crying. I really wanted to further my studies.. I really amm..........!!! I know I'm angry and my mouth seperti bisu kelu. Whenever I remember this conversation and realising that I got this scholarship my tears wil definitely fall! :'( :'( :'(

Dear friends, who would expect, initially she keep motivating me to further my study when suddenly she change her mind! (due to financial problem). Despite the rain, a rainbow came. Despite the sorrow & hardship, success just around the corner. Who would expect that right? I really am feel grateful & thankful now. Alhamdulillah.....

Allah is great! Allah is the best planner... It's just us either to give up or to move on...

Till then, Je'taime beaucoup! Mwah! ;)
